Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group - Roles (posted 4.12.2017)

Chair To represent the Steering Group and lead the development of a Neighbourhood Plan (NP) for Little Eaton. To ensure the effective working of the Steering and Theme Groups in accordance with the Parish Council Terms of Reference and to ensure the NP is developed from evidence based recommendations


Secretary To ensure all Steering Group meeting dates, agendas and reports are promoted and published widely in a timely way. Meeting dates and agendas will usually be issued 7 days in advance of the meeting and a draft report will be distributed within 7 days. To monitor the NP e-mail account (littleeatonplan@outlook.com) and take appropriate action in response to resident’s e-mails


Regular Steering Groups meetings will be open to the public. Agendas and reports will be published widely inviting contribution so ensuring effective community engagement throughout the plan making process


Treasurer To regularly report the financial position and forecast outturn to the Steering Group and, working with the Parish Clerk, maintain records of the Neighbourhood Plan Income and Expenditure. To prepare for submission, by the Parish Council, 2018-19 grant applications to Locality and Awards for All and help identify other potential external funding sources


Communications To establish and maintain a wide range of communication methods to maximise community engagement and participation through the entire plan making process. To liaise with the

-Steering Group Secretary to promote meeting dates, agendas and reports

-Theme Groups to encourage specific resident participation and feedback on issues under discussion


Project Management To maintain, support and report progress of the NP Project Plan. Identify and report areas of potential concern or delay which may negatively impact on timely delivery against the Project Plan and propose potential solutions

Work with Steering and Theme Group colleagues to develop and report progress on a community consultation and engagement strategy
